Mid Term Report

Mid terms are over and I have a bit more time again, or I would if I weren't working on so many orders + a bunch of new designs!
First of my tattoo inspired pieces:I'm planning another style of heart, swallows, skulls and more stars, so far I'm in love the new deisgns and wear the one in the picture almost every day.
And here all the little goodies I have yet to assemble. The studs just arrived today in the mail and I can't wait to work them into some vinyl designs, which I'll post here as soon as I finish them.
Hopefully I'll be posting each new piece as I finish/list them on etsy... should be a busy weekend!

This is only a test...

School has begun and it is exhausting to be a normal person i.e. wake up early and keep self engaged in chosen activities until late afternoon or evening. But I have been finding time to try out some new ideas!

Ampersand

This is one of a few tests for rings involving layers of vinyl and bolts, the others aren't finished enough yet to get a real idea of how they're wear and look.
Definitely going to play around with the layered ideas more, once I buy some more long thin bolts, and the Ampersand should reappear on Etsy soon, with better pictures of course.

The Mustache's Revenge: Return of The Chap's Disguise

I just listed two new versions of The Chap's Disguise, my silliest piece of jewelery, so far.

'Perfect for those on the run from the horrid officers of the law after your latest aristocratic heist, or your pesky wives and their detectives, even works for us members of the fairer sex! Simply grasp the monocle in one hand and the mustache in the other raise to the appropriate areas of the face and viola! You are now incognito! Also convenient for disguising your friends, pets and famous works of art.'

Crash Love and cold tea.

I made this necklace about a week after AFI released Crash Love, a brilliant album which I adore. Since it's made from a vinyl record, and the design is rather thin lines, it seems quite fragile, but I've somehow managed to wear it frequently, drop it and toss it around more frequently, and even wore it to one of their shows at The Pheonix Theatre in Petaluma CA, so it survived runs ins with multiple mosh pit escapees smashing into it... I am still amazed it hasn't broken!
Also I started on a new corset today, based on a nice simple period pattern, I'm using some super girly pink and white striped cotton I picked up at a rummage sale last summer, 12+ yards for $20!While distracted by corset fabric choosing/cutting my big cup of tea went cold, this is a dreadful turn of events only remedied by the arrival of the new Cranford DVD box set from Amazon.

It begins...

Thought I'd start a blog just for my Etsy, so I can post new listings and pictures of whatever I'm working on. All my jewelry, so far, is made from old vinyl records, each piece is handmade, I cut each piece out with a jeweler's saw. So here are some new designs including two just in time for Valentine's Day!

These were all inspired by the use of certain symbols and charms in Victorian sentimental an romantic jewelry, some pieces would even spell out their sweetheart's name using different gemstones, something I would love to do, but I'm sticking with plain vinyl for now. They also reference to the simple graphic quality of black Victorian mourning jewelry.
